What is the Support Playwrights Project?

We are a group of established theatre artists who want to support playwrights during these difficult times. (For “established” read “been around a while and have energy / ideas to share.”) We are focusing on new and emerging playwrights – but really we want to support playwrights at any point of their career, if they need it. We are playwrights ourselves, also directors, producers, dramaturgs and more…

How did this start?

With a meeting in London and online with 65 theatre artists meeting to try to answer the following question: How can established theatre artists support new and emerging playwrights during these difficult times?
